Freedom Chosun has obtained a copy of the directive attributed to Kim Jong-un. DPRK claimed previously that the Covid pandemic in North Korea was caused by the leaflet balloons the defector organizations had flown from South Korea to North Korea. The new directive contains a warning about the defectors once again.

Back in May, Covid Emergency Prevention Control Command issued a statement signed by Kim Jong-un: “The Covid crisis our republic endured in 2022 was invited by the South Korean puppets and their leaders trying to destroy our nation.” In addition, the statement charged that the South Korean government started to use defectors and enemies to contaminate the West Sea and rivers with dangerous Covid-inducing materials in April.

According to sources from YangGangDo and HamKyungDo on June 23, the Ministry of National Security issued a “Special Covid Warning” to the general public to prepare for the worst with utmost vigilance regarding the enemy’s Covid propagation. The Ministry sent notice that the enemy spread harmful material via giant equipment in interior regions like JeongJu-gun, HamKyungNamDo, and YangDeok-gun PyongAnNamDo; and that the epidemic control agency has detected Covid virus and food-poising agents in large volume. The Ministry claimed that the evil defectors were continuing to spread the Covid virus.

DPRK recently relaxed the three-year Covid isolation policy, as they rally to build its socialist economy. They expanded their trading activities to the point of reaching the level before the Covid epidemic.

Sources inside North Korea say, “DPRK blamed the South Korean government and the defectors in 2022, therefore, they have to stick to the story if Covid pandemic returns. But only a few people believe what the government says.”
